Install and run Conficker Network Scanner

The University of Bonn computer science institute's persons Felix Leder and Tillmann Werner wrote a scanner to check if there is a chance that a computer is infected with Conficker by checking the behavior of ports.

To get it running on a (clean install of Ubuntu), these actions can be taken:

First, prepare standard libraries (via python-dev) and some extraction tools (tar and unzip)

sudo apt-get install python-dev tar unzip

Then, load the Python pre-requisites:

1) PyCrypto (exact URL / version to be checked with search engine or something)

cd
wget https://pypi.python.org/packages/source/p/pycrypto/pycrypto-2.6.1.tar.gz -O ./pycrypto-2.6.1.tar.gz
tar -xzf ./pycrypto-2.6.1.tar.gz
cd pycrypto
sudo python setup.py install

2) impacket (exact URL / version to be checked with search engine or something)

cd
wget https://pypi.python.org/packages/source/i/impacket/impacket-0.9.11.tar.gz -O ./impacket-0.9.11.tar.gz
tar -xzf ./impacket-0.9.11.tar.gz
cd impacket-0.9.11
sudo python setup.py install

And finally, get the scs2.2 from the Bonn University website:

cd
wget http://net.cs.uni-bonn.de/uploads/media/scs2.2.zip
unzip ./scs2.2.zip

To then run it, do this

cd ~/scs2.2
python ./scs2.py [ip-address-from] [ip-address-to]
